A: The PRC (People’s Republic of China” was founded on October 1, 1949 with a ceremony at Tiananmen Square. The Central People's Government passed the Resolution on the National Day of the People's Republic of China on December 2nd, 1949 and declared that October 1 is the National Day.
Q: What are some traditional activities or customs in National Day?
A: There are no particular activities to practice during the National Day; however, since it is called “National day”, Chinese citizens behave in a certain way to show their patriotism. People would usually organize celebrating activities in public places such as displaying firework. They also held state banquet and military parades.
Q: How long is the break for National Day?
A: QISS gave a full week and an extra day off for National holiday. Your break will be from September 30th to November 7th.

Most of the interviewed students said that sleeping will be their main activities during the holiday, and here are some particular students who said they have more plans other than just sleeping. J

“I think I might be going to Korea… I’m not sure since I have some sort of passport issues. If I stayed in Qingdao, I would go out with my friends for few times and rest at home.”
Soonmin Kwak from Grade Ten:
“I’m going to Hong Kong during the holidays. Other than that, I’ll be going to academies more often than usual.”
Yiner Zhou from Grade Eleven:
“I’m staying in Qingdao during the holiday, but still I’ll be going to different places and shopping centers to spend time with my friends. “
